•
8m 45s
Directed by Joško Marušić • 1980 • Yugoslavia
Man’s dominion over nature is turned on its head in Joško Marušić’s gruesome short, a cult classic from the Zagreb School of Animation. Ocean dwellers rise from the depths to take revenge on the residents of a remote fishing village while the men are at sea in this atmospheric, sometimes lurid slice of horror animation, accompanied by the Hitchcock-esque twelve-tone stylings of composer Ivica Simović.
