Nikola Spasić’s thoughtful, tender docufiction hybrid follows Kristina, a transgender Serbian sex worker and amateur antiquarian. A series of chance encounters with a former theology student named Marko disrupts her carefully ordered life, while opening her up to a transformative encounter with faith and platonic romance. Seamlessly blending observational sequences with staged scenes, Spasić creates a holistic portrait of a woman in search of inner peace that eschews sensationalism in favour of open-minded exploration.
