Georgian photographer and journalist Alex Kvatashidze searches for meaning in the tragedies and triumphs of his life in this reflective documentary about the men and women who make war their livelihoods. From his naive initial decision to follow a French journalist girlfriend into the devastation of the Second Chechen War, through to the brief conflict between Russia and Georgia in 2008, Kvatashidze turns his own footage of past events into an ethical examination of himself and the tragic cast of characters he meets along the way: war correspondents, activists, hostages, victims.
