Ukraine at War: films of resistance and identity

To accompany our screening of Kateryna Gornostai’s new documentary Timestamp, we present this special playlist of films from Ukraine at war.

Over more than four years of full-scale invasion and more than a decade of aggression, Ukrainian cinema has responded to Russia’s war on the country with films reasserting identity and resistance. As we screen Kateryna Gornostai’s new documentary on school life during wartime, Timestamp (2025), available until 7 May, we present this short playlist of films from the Klassiki catalogue that deal with the conflict – from experimental shorts to trenchant features.
