Klassiki Picks is our new series of curated watchlists personally selected for our subscribers by celebrated filmmakers, writers, and actors. We’re delighted to welcome Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė to the hot seat for the this latest edition. Ingeborga is a Lithuanian actor and television presenter who has carved out a career as one of Eastern Europe’s most talented performers on both stage and screen over six decades. After her appearance in Petr Todorovsky’s perestroika cult hit Intergirl (1989), she went on to play a leading role in Nikita Mikhalkov’s Burnt by the Sun in 1994, which received the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the Grand Prix at Cannes. Further film credits include Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible (1996) and alongside Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet (1997).

Ingeborga’s selection for Klassiki Picks takes in classic and contemporary titles from her native Lithuania, as well as a masterpieces from Zoltán Fábri, Eldar Shegelaia, and Kira Muratova. Available to Klassiki subscribers from 11 July - 1 August 2024.
